Guangzhou Baiyun Mountain

Guangzhou Baiyun Mountain is in the northern outskirts of Guangzhou. This is an extension of the Dayu Mountains. The mountain has derived its name from the word Bayun meaning white cloud. The mountain top is always wrapped in thick cloud cover. The peak that forms the zenith is called Moxing Peak. This lies at an altitude of 380 meters from the sea level. From the mountain you can enjoy spectacular view of the Bird Paradise which is the largest in China. The park atop the mountain houses the Baiyun Wanwang Pavilion.

Guangzhou Baiyun Mountain range covers an area of 28 square kilometers. 30 peaks make up this mountain range. The highest peak Moxing Ridge is located right in the center. This peak is also called 'the First Peak under the Southern Sky'. Wind soughing in the Pines on Baiyun Mountain is one of the exotic 'Eight Sights of Guangzhou', the name being derived from the rustling sounds of pines caused by the chill and strong breeze.

Pujian Spring, looking afar in the evening from Baiyun Mountain, the Returned Monk at Jingtai, the Splendid Mountain of Cloud, testifying to the beauty of the Baiyun Mountain are some of the other scintillating sights one can enjoy here.
From the Guangzhou Baiyun Mountain you can have a bird's eye view of the entire city.

Some of the places of interests are Moxing Ridge, Mingzhu Tower, Mingchun Valley, Santai Ridge, Fei'e Ridge, the Forest of Steles in Guangzhou, Nengren Temple, a golf course, Xinghai Garden, Yuntai Garden, the Sculpture Park, Luhu Lake and Baiyun Chute.
