Sightseeing in Hangzhou


Along the Yangtze River Delta has thrived the ancient city of Hangzhou. With the advent of modernism the region has developed accordingly but in doing so has left its culture, tuition and customs intact. It is a suburban area but endowed with so much natural beauty that tourists find it to be a very good holiday destination. Sightseeing in Hangzhou is pleasurable indeed.

Many claim that it is China's paradise on earth. One of the many sightseeing locales in Hangzhou is the famous West Lake. Here you can do boating too. From here you can take a joyride to the Xiaoying Island and the Three Pools. In fact you will also have an excellent view of the Xiling Seal Society. This Society is the repository of all the handicrafts and art works of the ancient Hangzhou people. Sightseeing in Hangzhou is remarkable and a visit to the Huagang Fish Pool, the Mausoleum of Yue Fei and the Su Causeway is a must include in your itinerary.

China is also home to many shrines and Buddhist sanctuaries in Hangzhou there is the Lingyin Temple that boast of intricate architecture. A short walk from here is the Longjing Tea Plantation that produces one of the best varieties of tea leaves in China. Tiger Running Spring is another interesting sightseeing locale in Hangzhou that is worth seeing.

As one of East China's best tourist destinations, Hangzhou exerts a magnetic force on people, old and young, domestic or foreign. Consequently, it is strongly advised that you go there in autumn or winter, when there are fewer travelers. Jade Spring in the Hangzhou Botanical Gardens is also one of the major attractions of Hangzhou. A little to the east lies the Yue fei temple.

Sightseeing in Hangzhou is not going to be complete without a visit to the Three Pools Mirroring the Moon, the West Zhejiang Great Valley, Qingliang Peak national Reserve, Stone Great Wall and Fei Lai Feng (Peak Flown From Afar). During the day you can explore all the sightseeing locales and at night enjoy the nightlife in Hangzhou.
